Can't Stop The Serenity (CSTS) Pittsburgh is the Steel City's portion of a global fundraising effort that seeks to raise money for the wonderful charity Equality Now through screenings of Joss Whedon's 2005 sci-fi western Serenity (based on the short-lived but beloved TV show Firefly). This is CSTS Pittsburgh's fourth year and, like I said, our event is August 1 this year, at the Ross Community Center in Ross Township.Link
To boost community awareness and show off the people that make Pittsburgh so damn special, this year we distributed two dozen paper fans and parasols to local artists and invited them to decorate the items in any way they wanted. The finished pieces will be auctioned off at the event, with all proceeds going to Equality Now.
