End the Silence Event at ModernFormations on Nov 5!

The End the Silence Campaign is holding a benefit event tomorrow, November 5th, at the ModernFormations Gallery (4919 Penn) from 7:30 to 10. End the Silence Campaign is a project designed to increase awareness about sexual violence through creative expression, and they have been seeking poets, visual artists, and musical performers for the benefit concert and community awareness event. EtSC says:
This event is a benefit and kick-off for “Discover Your Voice,” a writing workshop for survivors of sexual violence presented by End the Silence Campaign and the Center for Victims of Violence and Crime. This event is designed to uplift and give hope to all survivors of violence and their friends and loved ones, as well as speak to the community about the need to address the silence that surrounds this issue.

Any artist wishing to perform in support of this important issue should contact Emily Monroe. Poetry, art, and music does not need to speak directly to the issue of sexual violence, but must be in the spirit of peace and community activism.
I believe that this will be a truly moving event that serves more than one function. Not only will it bring awareness to the survivors and bring them hope and happiness, but will also bring people together including yourself. If you're free tomorrow, we will see you there!
