Pittsburgh artists Rob Larson and Mike Egan return to ModernFormations with an intriguing and curious show that deals with the darker side of life and, of course, death.
Mike Egan works with acrylics and shellac on wood panels. His subject matter includes skeletons, devils, churches, funerals, saints and blood. Mike is greatly influenced by the Day of the Dead and his years of embalming in funeral homes.
Rob Larson focuses on the use of photography, stencils, and silkscreening to create urban settings and surreal environments that not so much tell a story, but show a scene that lets the viewer fill in the blanks.
Mike and Rob worked with Ben Kehoe in the “We Could Have Killed But Created” exhibit which was on display at Modernformations in July of 2007.
This exhibit only runs to October 30th!
