Light From The Moon at the New Hazlett on Sept 18!

From the NHT:
An evening performance of words and music, developed in a week-long residency in Pittsburgh. A collaboration between Georgian Poet Irakli Kakabadze & Local Musician Cooperative Nicopress featuring Matt Rosenblum, Herman Pearl "soy sos", Dave Bjornson, Alex Bard, Jeff Berman and Josh Tanzer.

Irakli Kakabadze is a multifaceted artist and has collaborated with a number of other writers and performers to establish ongoing projects such as the Polyphonic Blues Band and the theater group Theater for Change. At the age of 20, he was the youngest member of the National Forum of Georgia, the leading national liberation movement. In 2006 one of his collaborative partners died under mysterious circumstances and Kakabadze was arrested three times for voicing his criticisms of the government. Kakabadze holds an M.S. degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University in Virginia.
I found the video below of Irakli Kakabadze speaking at NYU about scholars and artists at risk around the globe from a documentary film called At the Top of My Voice, which is a verité documentary that provides an intimate portrait of the human faces behind the struggle for freedom of expression and human rights everywhere.
