Katherine Young's work is totally awesome and for that I need to point you in her direction! She's not brand new to the art scene, as she was featured on Digging Pitt all the way back in '07, but she hasn't been around forever either. She lives and works in the community of Bloomfield and Katherine is passionate about public service. Katherine says:
I explore feminine gender anxieties provocatively and innocently, with something a bit disturbing underneath. The mixed media manipulation of traditional, domestic, and kitsch elements resonates with the mystical and the mundane, the illogical and the ideal. Seemingly paradoxical, it often encompasses morbid elements of the female experience.
