The artist residency building that holds a collective, gallery space and other art events, Brewhouse, is in troubled waters. If you didn't already read about this, Digging Pitt goes into a bit more detail than I will.
Basically the City of Pittsburgh Bureau of Building Inspection sent a letter to the residents currently living there and deemed the building unlivable due to too many code violations, and the fixes may run somewhere around $50,000 worth or maybe more. From the sounds of it the building is doomed, which means the artists currently living there may be forced out of residency. Maybe a fundraiser can be held to help this building out. Or donations from various artists to be sold at auction. Do you have any ideas? Can we save this place and our fellow artists the hassle?
