The
Media Association of Pittsburgh (MAP) is holding what sounds like a pretty cool panel on Friday, September 11th, at
Point Park University's JVH Auditorium (
Main building, corner of Wood St and Blvd of the Allies - 2nd Floor) from 8am to 9am. Panelists include:
Lauren Bracey, PR and Marketing Manager at
The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust;
Jeffrey Inscho, PR and Media Relations at
The Mattress Factory; and
Chris Hays, Marketing Director at the Pittsburgh Playhouse at
Point Park University.
MAP says:
Did you know that the Arts Industry is approximately a $341 million dollar business?
The above figure comes from a 2007 economic impact study conducted by Americans for the Arts. The study also found that Allegheny County's arts and culture support 10,192 full-time equivalent jobs and generate $33.8 million in local and state government revenue. At the national level, a June 2009 John's Hopkins University Listening Post Project found 48% of non-profits plan to expand marketing efforts during the current recessionary period.

Also, while on
Point Park University's website looking for info on this event, I saw the really cool illustration above. I think it gives PPU a nice edge on their marketing. RAD!
