Tugboat Printshop!

The Tugboat Printshop is a small collective (two people) in Pittsburgh that create some pretty big projects. Paul Roden and Valerie Leuth make up Tugboat, which create some very large, elaborate and intricate woodcut prints that will definitely make you say "wow". They have some upcoming shows including NORTHSOUTHEASTWEST on September 10-October 4, 2009 at Picaroon Projects & Zigzag Gallery in The Plains, VA, the RENEGADE CRAFT FAIR: CHICAGO during September 12+13, 2009 in Wicker Park in Chicago, and they will be at ARTCLECTIC 2009 during October 22-25, 2009 at the University School of Nashville, among a few other shows that you can view under the News/Information portion of their site. Unfortunately no upcoming shows right here in Pittsburgh, but all of you out-of-towners can enjoy!

From Tugboat's News/Information > About Our Printshop page, which includes lots of great pictures of their space:
Tugboat Printshop is located @ 298 MAIN STREET in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh (halfway up the hill between Penn & Butler).

Each of our original images is printed by rolling ink onto hand-drawn, hand-carved woodblocks. The block is then rolled through the press onto a sheet of archival paper.
Both Valerie and Paul have contributed their designs to many cool projects, some of Valerie's were even included in some Urban Outfitters pillows! Checkout some of their RAD prints below!
