Vanishings is Vanishing This Saturday!

From David Grim:
VANISHINGS Features previously unseen photography by David Grim. In 1831, Alexis de Tocqueville came to the United States to study the newest advancements in prison technology. One of his stops was Eastern Penitentiary in Philadelphia. Please join us for a Closing Reception and images taken from that very location 178 years after his trip.
This takes place at the Imagebox Gallery at 4933 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh (Garfield), PA 15224 this coming Saturday, June 27th from 7-9pm.

On another note, can anyone tell me what in the world that thing in the promo photo above is? This is the image that was included with David's message and all I can see is a strange home-made version of the Stanley Cup...!? What do you see?

Here's a couple images of David's other work, from a show that he had at the Zombo Gallery last December:
