David Edwards' Inflatable Elephant


This isn't exactly news since it happened back in '06, so some of you may already have heard or seen this, but I thought I'd post it for all of you newbe's out there! From David L Edwards' site:
Pittsburgh's Painted Pachyderm was a winning design submitted to the Sprout Fund for the 2006 Pittsburgh Roars yearlong celebration. The designs were converted into giant inflatable sculptures that were set up at different locations in the region throughout 2006. The sculpture and design were purchased by the Carnegie Institute in 2007.
Above is the original pitched idea in pastel. Below is what the Sprout Fund helped make it into, here in Oakland.
